The Commercial Actor’s BLACK BOOK
Maryam is pleased to announce her newest project, “The Commercial Actor’s BLACK BOOK”. The first of its kind giving its readers a chance to see what is involved when hiring seasoned and not so seasoned actors to your favorite commercials. “The Commercial Actor’s BLACK BOOK” provides hands on knowledge and tools to make the right choices in the audition room from the actual stakeholders who book you on the job, the Advertising Executives. With contributors from over 30 agencies combined, Maryam finds a way to give you advice on how to know the Agency, so you can book the job. Here’s a sneak peek to the “The Commercial Actor’s BLACK BOOK”, words of advice from the Group Creative Director Dennis Lee, WongDoody Advertising, Los Angeles.
“ Actors don’t rewrite the script, no really, don’t rewrite the script! If I want Improv I would cast for Improv comediennes. The script has gone through 10 rounds of rewrites, 20 rounds of client feedback and a round or two of legal input. Just read the script and read it well.”
Praise for The Commercial Actor’s BLACK BOOK
“The book is great! I loved the fact that it was an easy read and I feel it is a product that new and seasoned commercial actors should have in their back pockets.”

“I think this is a helpful tool, especially how you explain the way commercial callbacks work. A lot of actors make assumptions but by informing the actor of what really happens, gives ease to the mental pressure we can put on ourselves for not booking the job”.
